Today we’re launching the Basedash Agent, your AI data analyst.

Ask a question and the agent answers it: it explores your database, writes and runs the SQL, builds the visualization, and explains what it found. It understands your schema, your custom business context, and your team. It does the work of a dedicated data analyst and is as easy to use as ChatGPT.

Why we built the agent

Most companies have far more questions than analysts to answer them. The important ones get asked, and everything else goes unanswered, including the small, curious “I wonder if…” questions that move a product forward. What limits them is how many people can write SQL and know the schema.

Text-to-SQL tools tried to solve this, but they mostly produce a single query and hope it’s right. Real analysis takes more than one query: you explore the schema, try something, notice the result looks off, fix the query, and follow the thread until you have an answer.

The Basedash Agent works the way an analyst does. It plans, queries, checks its own work, and iterates, so you can trust the answer it gives you.

The Basedash Agent grounds every answer in your database, your context, and your team

Generate charts, no technical knowledge required

Ask for what you want in plain English and the agent generates the chart, the breakdown, or the summary. You don’t need SQL, schema knowledge, or any setup.

Ask “where are my signups coming from over the last 90 days?” and you get a chart with the source breakdown, device split, and trend over time, ready to drop onto a dashboard or share with your team.

Chat with any business data

The agent works across everything you’ve connected to Basedash: SQL databases, warehouses, and the SaaS tools your business runs on.

Chat with data across Snowflake, Postgres, Stripe, Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics, and more

Ask one question across Snowflake, Postgres, MySQL, Stripe, Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and more, and the agent figures out where the answer lives.

Just mention @Basedash in Slack

The Basedash Agent also lives in Slack, so anyone on the team can get an answer without switching tools or leaving the conversation.

Mention @Basedash in Slack to ask questions and get answers without leaving the conversation

Mention @Basedash in a thread with a request like “compare daily actives, retention rate, and churn vs last week” and the agent looks through your data and replies in the thread, where the whole team can see it.

Teach it your business

Every company has its own language: what a metric means, which accounts to exclude, how the team is structured, what an initiative is called. The agent gets sharper the more of that context you give it.

Add custom business context like documentation, KPIs, OKRs, jargon, and team structure

Add documentation, KPIs, OKRs, goals, team structure, industry terminology, and any other context, and the agent uses it to answer questions the way someone on your team would.

Built to be trusted

An analyst is only useful if you can trust the numbers. We built the agent to be accurate and verifiable, with a workflow designed to catch and resolve its own errors before they reach you.

The Basedash Agent has a 30x lower hallucination rate, a 99% SQL error resolution rate, and is 20x faster to set up than an MCP

That workflow gives the agent a far lower hallucination rate, a near-perfect SQL error resolution rate, and a setup that takes minutes instead of the engineering project that wiring up your own tooling usually requires.

We also put the agent up against the other AI data analysts teams are evaluating. In BI Bench, our public benchmark that scores agents on accuracy and speed against a real database with a complex schema, Basedash is the most accurate of every tool we tested.

Getting started

The Basedash Agent is available today for all Basedash users.

  1. Sign up for Basedash (or log in)
  2. Connect your data sources
  3. Ask the agent your first question, or connect Slack and mention @Basedash
  4. Add custom context so it answers the way your team would

For more on what’s possible, see the AI chat feature page.

What’s next

The Basedash Agent turns the question “I wish I knew…” into an answer anyone on the team can get in seconds. It’s a step toward giving everyone a data analyst, whether or not their team is big enough to hire one.

Try the Basedash Agent today and ask it about your data.
